Iran’s ‘Room no. 13’ to compete in UK

Iranian short ‘Room no. 13’ is to compete at the 2020 Southport Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian short title ‘Room no. 13’ has been selected to compete at the first edition of the Southport International Short Film Festival in the UK.

The short title is about a writer who sees herself as a character engaged in the story that she is writing.

Directed by Kasra Tirsahar, the 13-minute flick has competed at a number of film festivals, including the Lift-Off Global Network Sessions in the UK, the New York Film Academy in the US, and the Indogma Film Festival in India.

The short title garnered Best Audience Award at the Lift-Off, the Jury Award at the New York Film Academy and the Best Film Award at the Indogma.

The cast of the film includes Farshad Faal and Ghazal Rahavard.

The Southport film festival aims to showcase the best short films from around the world.

The festival has been scheduled for June 26-28, 2020. But it may be held online due to the coronavirus outbreak.
